Loubna El Mkaouar

Loubna El-Mkaouar is an interdisciplinary lecturer at the University of Westminster part of the College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries. She recently finished a PhD on the role of power structures, media narratives and discourses in creating/changing the culture of gender rights in the Middle East. She teaches practical and theoretical classes focused on broadcast/digital and creative media content. As of September 2020, she took the role of Deputy Course Leader for the MA program Media and Development at the University of Westminster and Leads modules on Communication, technology & Creative Media Industries at City University of London. She worked in news production at the Associated Press APTN in London. She also produced features and documentaries for various international TV channels. She is currently working on publishing her work and her research is focused on storytelling, technology, imagination & innovation in creating/crafting change and development.
